A lover of books from childhood, she could spend hours lost in the pages of Enid Blyton’s Famous Five series, Carolyn Keene’s Nancy Drew books, and Franklin W. Dixon’s Hardy Boys stories. Mystery and intrigue seeped into her blood, inspiring many of the plotlines in her stories. As she grew older, fantasy authors like J. R. R Tolkien and Sarah J. Maas joined her library and encouraged her to pursue a career in writing herself.

But the worlds on the pages weren’t the only ones to capture her attention. She became more focused on how the people around her were influenced by their stories. Committed to understanding how people’s histories influence their choices and actions, she strives to write complex characters readers can connect with.
